Certifications

Regulatory basics (EU / UK / USA)

EU (EASA):
Razorbill is intended for the Open Category and may fall under A1/C0 when marked accordingly. You must follow Open Category rules (e.g., fly VLOS, respect height limits, avoid people/crowds and restricted areas). Some countries require online training/registration even for sub-250g. Check your national aviation authority.

UK (CAA):
Operate under the Open Category rules. Keep visual line of sight, follow local height limits, avoid people/crowds and restricted areas. Operator/ Flyer IDs may be required depending on use and local interpretation; check the CAA.

USA (FAA):
Complies with FCC Part 15 (radio). Recreational flying must follow 49 U.S.C. § 44809 community-based guidelines. Registration and Remote ID are generally not required for sub-250g recreational drones; requirements can change; confirm with the FAA. Commercial use has different rules. Always fly within local law, maintain VLOS, respect no-fly zones, and never operate near airports, emergency sites, or sensitive areas.

Battery & Shipping Safety

Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries; shipped as UN3481 – contained in equipment (courier only).

Handle with care: do not puncture, crush, short, or expose to heat/water.

Charge only with the supplied cable/charger; monitor while charging.

Store 10–25°C, dry, out of sun. For >30 days, store at 40–60% charge and top up monthly.

Recycle batteries/e-waste via approved collection points (WEEE in EU/UK).

Safe Operation

Keep visual line of sight; fly in good weather and low wind.

Avoid people/crowds; use prop guards for early flights and close-quarters flying.

Keep clear of hair, loose clothing, pets, and children during operation.

Land immediately if the drone or battery becomes hot, swollen, damaged, or behaves abnormally.

Recommended age 14+ with responsible supervision.

AI Assist; What it is / isn’t

Is: Assistive stabilization (auto-hover, horizon/subject assist) to reduce shaky footage.

Isn’t: Autonomous flight or obstacle avoidance that lets you ignore rules. You remain in control.

Compliance scope & modifications

Compliance applies to Razorbill and the included accessories in the retail box.

Using unapproved accessories, modifying hardware/firmware, or operating outside the intended use may void compliance and warranty.

Chargers/PSUs are certified to applicable safety and EMC standards where supplied.

Markings & recycling

Product/manual include required CE, FCC, (and where applicable UKCA), and WEEE markings.

Dispose of electronics and batteries responsibly (do not place in household waste).
